Jerusalem Biennale - Call for Art

The Jerusalem Biennale will be held for the second time between September 24th and November 5th, 2015 in different locations around the city center of Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Biennale is dedicated to exploring the places in which the Contemporary Art world and the Jewish world of content meet. It is a stage for professional artists, who create today and refer in their work to Jewish thought, spirit, tradition or experience.

The Jerusalem Biennale is seeking Institutions, Artists Groups and Independent Curators worldwide to submit proposals for Biennale2015 – The world's first Biennale dedicated to Contemporary Jewish Art. The proposals should be for an entire exhibition of any discipline or combination of disciplines (painting, photography, sculpture, installation, video, sound and more). Proposals for performance(s) can be included in an additional chapter within the general proposal.
The Biennale encourages collaboration between different organizations and groups to submit a joint proposal. Collaborative submissions will be ranked higher.

NOTE to Jewish Art Salon affiliated artists:
The Jewish Art Salon will submit an exhibit proposal, curated by curators in New York and Israel. At the Biennale organizer's request this exhibit will feature New York area artists.
More info on the Jewish Art Salon exhibit proposal will be available soon.

The Salon will select only from artists who have been accepted as Fellowship Members.
We have accepted 67 artists so far, and are still reviewing another 80. Final review will be finished Mid December and all artists who applied for Fellowship, no matter when they applied, will be notified then.

After Mid December the curators will start selecting art for our exhibit proposal.

If you are interested in applying for membership, please click here for more info.

Acceptance to Fellow Membership does not guarantee inclusion in the Jerusalem Biennale proposal. If you are a NY area (NY, NJ, CT) artist, and you applied by December 4, and you were accepted as Fellow, you are eligible to be a candidate to be selected for the Jewish Art Salon Biennale exhibit proposal; the final Biennale selection however will be determined by the curators and the Biennale organizers.

The Biennale organizers are interested in reviewing other proposals. If you are not in the NY area, or if you have a proposal for a group show, please contact the Biennale directly. See the Biennale website for the call for art here.
