The Frisch School NJ seeks artists

The Frisch School
Cougars High-School Art Initiative

The Frisch C.H.A.I. program is looking for Jewish contemporary artists who are interested in promoting their work, interacting with Jewish teens in a school setting, and opening up a dialogue with teenagers about the nature of the contemporary Jewish art culture. They are looking for one artist per month to meet with the studio art/sculpture club, which meets every Wednesday evening from 5:15- 7:15 pm at The Frisch School.

The club works on fine art, sculpture, and fashion projects and is open to learning from artists who work in a variety of mediums including the above but not limited to them.  They aim to forge a relationship between artist and student, learn about the artists work, and gain insight, ideas, and skills from the artists.  In some cases they may use the artist's discussion as a springboard for further projects.

Please email Ahuva.mantell@frisch.org with your contact information, an artist statement, and several images that represent the work you would like to share with the students.  Once reviewed, artists will be contacted about scheduling.

The Frisch School is located at 120 West Century Road in Paramus, New Jersey, and is accessible by public transportation.  (Bridge bus terminal- Garden State Plaza-Bus #756- Exit on Century Road in front of Frisch).

On Saturday night March, 2nd, The Frisch School will host an Evening of the Arts, which showcases the arts at Frisch.  The students’ art will be exhibited there.  All participating artists will be invited to exhibit a work or works of art in the show. Artists will be able to invite friends and family and participate in the evening event.
